Portrait sessions are completely focused around whatever creative concept my subject chooses. In this case I was working on a personal editorial project and asked Anna if she would be interested in being my subject that day. Anna is a model, who I have been working with for years and know very well. We decided to choose the landscape first and work the wardrobe around this. The Sanford Mills are broken down old mills that have a lot of beautiful texture and unique architecture. We loved the neutral tones of the backdrops that the mills provided so we decided to choose a wardrobe that would also be warm tones . I loved the dichotomy of the leopard dress and high fashion look in a run down city type setting. For hair and makeup we wanted it to be more dramatic so we did a smokey eye and big teased up hair. On site I brought several ideas of visual poses for Anna to look at that day. This helps the models when they have a visual to guide them, We had a lot of fun and so many laughs behind the scenes that day. What a sport Anna was making it look so easy on a freezing 30 degree windy day!
